Plot Summary

A dark ritual has twisted Elyst into a succubus, warping her mind with heightened sexual urges and ever-present lust. Coming to her rescue, a beautiful centauress offers to carry Elyst to the Pools of Purity where she may be restored. Although she resembles a majestic steed below the hip, Elara proves to be quite the temptation in Elyst’s amorous state. Indulgence marks the beginning of their journey as the two prove unable to keep apart.

Elyst offers up the depths of her throat and then goes for a belly ride suspended under Elara’s body. Only demonic lust could afford such bravery!

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on June 23, 2023

The battle against evil never ends for Elyst. It is her duty to rail against the dark, no matter the cost. Caught by those that do evil, transformed into a succubus, the urges of her new form begin to seduce her. All seems lost until Elara offers a means to escape and perhaps something more that Elyst has been of now.

The work is a fast paced fantasy adventure with a succubus transformation that leads to a series of extended erotic scenes between the main characters. It’s one of the more unique couplings for a succubus, that being Elara is a centauress. While there is a bit of world building and character development for Elyst scattered though out, the main focus settles on Elyst’s mental changes, the urges as a succubus that seep into her, and how Elara becomes something more than a rescuer.

The erotic heat begins simmering soon after the two characters are forced to travel together and builds towards the climax which felt a bit over the top. It’s not that the erotica doesn’t work well and the heat isn’t told well. It’s more that what happens just seems to be a shade more hentai feeling than I expected it to be.

Elyst, the succubus of the work, isn’t stereotypical or evil. The description of her succubus form is very unique, but also so very eroric and powerful which seems to fit her being a sorcereress. But as her physical transformation leads into a shift mentally for her, it’s clear that her needs as a succubus are slowly taking her over. It’s that internal monologue that I thought really worked well. The shift is subtle at first but quickly snowballs into a singular focus which felt really telling.

There are some obvious succubus aspects to this work, but it’s not exactly a succubus story. Elyst’s story feels very incomplete, the gaps are very noticeable and exploring the why of things would be a good place to start. Perhaps turning back in time to tell of her before she was transformed offers something to explore. There’s a really good quest story series here and with the transformation being interrupted, what might be the end result of Elyst not exactly being the succubus she was intended to be.

Three out of five pitchforks.

The ending offers a hint and seeing whether Elyst turns evil or manages to hold onto herself despite what she had become is a story worth telling. I think it should be. More character development than I expected, a mystery left to be explored. Perhaps there will be a follow on work and that idea is something to ponder about.
