Plot Summary

One Sinner down, six to go.

Greed is bound to me. She can only feed on me. And she can’t kill me while doing it. Best binding spell ever. But the party isn’t over. There are more six succubi out there. And I might have met the worst of them. Wrath has more than one way to feed on people. She devours lust. She also devours anger. This one is powerful. Maybe too powerful. Can I bind her before she devours me?

Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on June 9, 2022

One succubi down, many more to go. Still, things went better than expected and it can’t be that bad, can it? The problem with being too sure of yourself is that there’s another succubus waiting to teach you a lesson.

The work continues immediately from the prior work and gives a bit of character development to Greed, a bit of a relationship seems to build, and then the quest continues onwards. It’s rather quick paced, there are some really funny moments, but also there’s an undercurrent of danger that really didn’t come through in the first story as well.

Wrath, as a succubus, is somewhat stereotypical in character and actions which was a little disappointing. She just wasn’t as interesting as Greed, mainly in her attitude and expression of distaste and aloofness that sort of worked, but not really well. I’ll also note there’s a point in the story where Greed and Wrath being sisters comes to bite the main character and brings an important question. Why doesn’t he memorize the spell? Seems to me that’s going to be a continuing issue and that might become too repetitive.

There are a lot of editing mistakes, the direst of them being calling Greed… Green… several times and that just wasn’t good. Beyond that issue, the encounter with Wrath was rushed I felt, there could have been a lot more story in the moment. She’s interesting, or at least starts to be, but the story moves so fast that there’s really nothing in the telling of her other than her powers and the sex scene.

I will note that there’s one line in the story, and those that know me will get it, that I found bemusing. But then I have a thing for the use of the word succubi after all. Overall, there’s a lot of good here, a lot of story building and that’s really promising.

I still don’t want this to turn into a typical harem story, which it’s on the edge of becoming. The succubi have some lovely and quirky character traits that should be explored. There’s more story here than just the sex, which is trying to be told. Perhaps there will be a point in which the succubi actually can tell their stories.

Three and a half out of five pitchforks.

Overall, a good follow on, the ending at least offers a warning to the main character about being too cocky, in more than one way. Whomever is next of the succubi sisters I hope she’s something more than simply evil, something more than just wanting sex. If anything, please tell the story of the succubi themselves, that’s really what’s missing here.
