The thing about having power is the craving for more and Lili is cannot resist. There are others who are intruding on her domain, but they will discover the errors of their ways. But Lili is always hungry and a demon hunter might be delicious. Especially when his own desires will give Lili a secret that might change everything.
The story follows on a short time after the prior work and with that there’s a bit of a reveal of what Lili desires for herself as well as a bit of plotting by her. There’s also a good deal of world building that worked really well to expand her universe and offer hits of what might be coming in the future.
The focus of this part of the series is mainly on Lili drawing a demon hunter close to her and capturing him before using her powers to discover a secret he holds and she wants to possess. The entrapment is a bit rough around the edges, mainly in the dialogue, which felt too stilted and off for what Lili was trying to do. She was less damsel in distress and more an obvious trap which was a bit disappointing.
Given her powers at this point in the story, there really should have been more of a innocent temptress vibe mixed with a slowly building mind control scene before she captured the hunter. As things are it’s too quick and felt like something was missing and it shouldn’t have been.
Once the hunter is captured, and Lili begins to use her powers as a succubus to make the hunter tell her all, it reads oddly again. The physical seduction is well told, but the dialogue just misses the mark. The words read flat and aren’t adding to the heat as they could have been. The erotica in this scene, which is the heart of the story, needed more seductive aspects, more whittling away at the hunter’s mind until he fell to Lili. It could have been deliciously evil and seductive, but the heat felt tepid and I wish it wasn’t.
While the overall writing and editing has improved, there’s just something odd about the dialogue. It reads off and that I think comes mainly to Lili not being as seductive and irresistible in her words and teasing as she is otherwise in what she does. That said, the story itself finally seems to have a quest for her to begin and the item it is focused on could transform her further, make her more of a dominant seductress and take her character arc towards some really needed growth. I hope that’s what comes next.

It feels like the series is turning a corner with Lili and that interests me. I hope she grows into more of a presence, both in power and seductiveness. Perhaps that item she is seeking will change her and make her more than just a creature of sex and need and more a power onto herself.
