Book Review

The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on October 17, 2023

Mahalia is not at all happy about what’s happened. Briana has been attacked and the hunter will have to pay. Perhaps she will find a measure of revenge, perhaps something more.

Following on from the prior work, this part of the series focuses on Mahalia’s seething anger and getting revenge on Katie, a demon hunter that attacked Stacy. That theme, and the consequences, takes over the majority of the work overall. The erotica focuses on two short and slightly over the top futa scenes which have really not a lot of heat.

The story is very rushed once more, but there is some new background about the demon hunters that adds some characters and history with Mahalia that is interesting and I hope can take the story in directions that will add needed depth to the series. There’s so very little in the way of a succubus theme, for the futa storyline.

The work needs some editing, Mahalia’s internal dialogue isn’t as emotional as I’d expected from what happened to Briana. The heat in the erotica is tepid and feels lacklustre. Given how quickly the story is told, the backstory about the hunters is glossed over, as is what I think are some points in the story that could have been used for a flashback or two to tell more about Mahalia and what the demon hunters have done in the past.

Overall, it’s that background, the building of the universe and the relationships and battles fought that could add so much overall. The characters themselves offer something, there’s a hook here that could take the series from wandering around and give it purpose and I would really like to see that.

Two out of five pitchforks.

Once more the work needs another editing pass to make the dialogue sound better and the story flow more cohesively. It’s still interesting, but things happen which seem to lack purpose. This is very much a short scene in a larger work and I still think if it was all bundled together and given a series editing it would be quite good. There is a bit of direction now and that does seem to add something, but some time taken to breath more life into the works so far, and to follow, is something I’m hoping for.
