Plot Summary

Isabel Archer can’t bear the thought of succeeding her dying father, since it would mean finding a wife for the man she’s been desperately in love with since she was a teenager. The dilemma and its possible solution hark back to a weekend in 1976 when a group of free-spirited young people descend on the castle for a weekend of orgiastic revelry during which every convention is broken and nothing is taboo. Visiting at the same time is U.S. Air Force officer and former P.O.W. Robert Callaway. Wounded inside and out from torture inflicted during his stint in the notorious North Vietnamese prison known as the Hanoi Hilton, Cal resigns himself to a future without the woman he loves—or any woman, ever again.
