Lost Girl is a Canadian developed and produced television series which premiered in the 2010 season on the television channel Showcase.

Plot

Short Summary

Tamsin is paid by Hades for finding Bo, but she refuses the payment. Seeking a means to banish him to Hel, she teams up with Stacey and the two go in search of a necklace worn by Freyja that she used to convince Hades to accept rule of the underworld. They return to the Academy where Tamsin’s past is revealed and all of her mistakes are laid bare. After encountering Acacia and Freyja, it is revealed that the entire story about Freyja doing so was a lie, and that Hades freely made the choice to do so when the spoils of war were divided between himself, Zeus and Poseidon. Evony returns, seeking to be made Fae once more by Lauren, but she also reveals that she has not been well for some time. Lauren’s test results indicate that Evony is dying, being cursed when she was The Morrigan and making her Fae would likely kill her instantly. Bo and Lauren take Evony to see Hades in an attempt to save her, but he refuses to do so. In the end, Evony puts her faith in Lauren, who promises not to give up on her, and Bo, Lauren and Evony’s relationship becomes more of a friendship. After finding out the truth about what Hades’ plans are, Tamsin meets with Bo, the two mending their relationship, Tamsin settling for being friends. Tamsin then warns Bo that her father is building an army and it is seen that Hades is able to leave his cell at will, and does so.

Questions in this Episode

• Does Lauren have any real control over her powers? When she was feeding off of Bo at the beginning of the episode, was this a mistake or on purpose? Bo said she was still getting used to what happens when Lauren feeds, which brings up the question of Bo's powers. When Lauren has them, can she do everything that Bo does normally? Including, for example, making Thralls?
• How exactly did Stacey wind up at the drive-through? Was she intending to take the owner's soul?
• If Stacey still needed a soul to balance the books, why hadn't she attempted to do so previously?
• It's hard to believe that Stacey wasn't aware of what has been going on with the Ancients, so why does she seem so out of touch?
• If so many don't believe in the stories about how Hades became the ruler of the underworld, then why is it that so much stock is put into the stories by those that seemingly know better?
• It is said that all Ancients lie for their own agendas, so who of them all tells the closest thing to the truth?
• As Lauren must have been doing tests on Evony all of this time, why is it that only now she has seen there is a problem with her? Or has Lauren not done anything really for Evony in all of this time?
• How long has Evony been sick? If Lauren had been made aware of this sooner, could that have changed anything?
• What purpose is there to having Valkyrie attend a school on Earth?

Answers in this Episode

• At the beginning of the episode, no one is aware that Zee is still on Earth with the exception of Hades.
• Lauren was seen feeding on Bo at the beginning of the episode, whether this is common or not since she became a Conduit is not made clear.
• At the beginning of the episode, Bo mentions that Trick had told her that Tamsin was going away somewhere.
• Tamsin received payment from Hades for her finding Bo and bringing her to him, but Tamsin tore up the payment and refused it after confronting Hades about it.
• Stacey found herself banished from Valhalla and made to work at a drive-through restaurant. She still owed a soul to balance Valhalla's ledgers.
• Trick has been only doing research of late into Hades' past.
• Trick tells of what happened after the Battle of Titans where Zeus and Poseidon split the spoils of the Earth with Hades. Zeus got the sky, Poseidon the water, and Hades drew the shortest straw, leaving him to preside over the underworld.
• According to Trick, Hades was enticed to take command of the underworld by a woman wearing a necklace of seduction.
• The Brisingamen Necklace in legend is the torc or necklace of the goddess Freyja. You can find out more about this legend here.
• At one point, Bo thought that Tamsin was with Stacey in error.
• At the beginning of the episode, Evony was overcome with having to deal with being human and demanded that Lauren turn her Fae once more.
• Evony fears needles.
• Evony admits that she has not been feeling well for some time.
• Apparently, other than the known portal seen earlier in the series, the only other way to Valhalla is through a portal located at the high school that all Valkyries attend on Earth.
• The high school was properly called: "Valkyrie Academy"
• Stacey claims to have met Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock in a port-a-potty.
• Stacey claims that the Academy fell apart after Tamsin left and has been closed for decades.
• Tamsin's goal at the Academy was to be first in her class and serve by Freyja's side.
• Acacia had been an instructor at the Academy, Tamsin and Stacey both being in her class.
• Tamsin believed in the past that a Valkyrie's role was to take a soldier's soul and deliver it to Valhalla.
• Acadia told Tamsin their role was to not to play nursemaid, but to intercept soldiers in battle and win wars.
• Lauren has not told Evony about being a Conduit.
